Applications for Klein Tech System's Acoustic Interface Pads

KTS Acoustic Interface Pads (AIPs) are designed for speaker stand applications along with general supporting surfaces and are normally placed between the speaker cabinet /enclosure and the top plate of the speaker stand or surface. Certain AIPs allow just about any type of speaker or monitor to be coupled to any surface without destruction.

KTS has developed and now presents an affordable method for a product that is in demand and is required by audiophiles. We are presenting you with technology and options that are not currently offered.

KTS AIPs provide 3 main physical or acoustical advantages which result in improved sound. These are limited definitions and the theory section should be read for an in depth analysis.

  • Speaker Enclosure or Object Coupling. This defined means that the objects that are coupled with the AIP act as one Object.
  • Speaker Enclosure Dampening or Object Damping. This defined means that unwanted vibration in the form of audible distortion is minimized through the conversion of acoustic or mechanical energy to heat.
  • Speaker Enclosure Dampening or Object Isolation: Unwanted vibrations in the form of audible distortion meets a barrier (the AIP) and is unable to transfer into the Speaker Enclosure or Object.

These are the 3 main acoustical advantages of the KTS AIP. For a more in depth scientific analysis the AIP, please refer to the Theory section of this site:

Applications:

Speaker
  • Speaker Enclosures
  • Studio or Near Field Monitors
  • Speaker Stands
  • Satellite Stands
  • Audio Stands or Audio Furniture
  • Center Channel surround speakers that need to be mounted or tilted
  • Any type of Furniture
  • Any type of Shelf used for an audio application
  • Audio Components
  • Any vibrating Surface that is or has the potential to create noisy audible distortion
  • Center Channel surround speakers that need to be mounted or tilted
  • Hard Wood Floors or Tile
  • Turntables Amps (Amplifiers)
  • CD or DVD players

KTS acoustic interface pads (AIPs) provide an engineered approach to placement and positioning of studio monitors. Studio engineers can accurately and precisely position monitors horizontally for complete on-axis, ear level transmission. KTS AIPs allow any surface of the monitor to be used as its resting surface or its face down secured surface. Studio monitors can now be mounted securely without damaging any finished surfaces. KTS AIPs will also insure that studio monitors are well coupled to their support. The loudspeaker housing will be efficiently damped and isolated providing a better design, and a more effective studio with improved sound.

High priced, high-end monitors are kept firmly fixed to the console for greater security.   Custom sizes are available.

Functionality Overview

  • Dampens and absorbs distorting vibration energy from any surface primarily speaker enclosures.
  • Provides solid coupling between surfaces and parts such as between speaker cabinets and stands, supports, or shelves.
  • Isolates vibration from traveling between components, speakers, and supports.
  • Can be used to dampen vibration from any surface
  • Dramatically improves stability and safety by eliminating sliding, tipping and accidental movement.
  • Eliminates the need for destructive spikes.
  • Protects surfaces and finishes.
  • Super sticky, double-sided adhesive secures speakers to speaker stands.
  • Pads can adapt different types of speaker sizes to various size surfaces and brands of speaker supports or stands. Acts as a universal adapter.
  • Ideal for studios, studio consoles, monitors, and sound rooms.
  • Can be used to secure smaller size satellites and monitors to the tops of larger speakers.
  • Also great for bookshelf speakers, and satellites.
  • The ultimate solution for multimedia and small computer size speakers that must be securely fastened to any surface.
