Acoustics

Here are a few interesting items related to KTS acoustic design and experience.

Anechoic Chambers (3 photos)

These Chambers Allow Sound to be Absorbed in All Directions.

There is almost no sound echo or bounce. When you're inside one of these chambers, it's unlike anything you've experienced. When you speak, only a tiny amount of the sound leaving your mouth actually hits your ears. In every day life, we are used to listening to alot of echo.

This is a nearly completed band recording studio built into a home located in Boca Raton, Florida (The Oaks Complex). The concrete walls were layered with Fiberglass Insulation, Metal Impregnated Vinyl Sound Block, Foam Rubber, and a final layer of Carpet. The room is acoustically "dead". Foam Sound Absorbing/Diffusing pieces are added over the walls for final absorbtion of lower frequencies. Phimore (KTS' lead tech) is installing DMX programmed lighting.
